Chamomile<\/strong> ( Marticaria chamomilla<\/em> , wild chamomile) is a well-known herb in Greece and is very easily found in the Greek countryside in fields, wetlands and fields. It is a herbaceous plant that can reach a height of 60 cm. Its useful part is the flowering head<\/strong> that appears from May to September.<\/p>\n

Collect the flowers early in the morning and dry them in the shade at a temperature below 35 degrees Celsius. It contains several medicinal ingredients in its essential oil, antispasmodics and vegetable mucus. It is one of the classic herbs that we use to make a decoction and a well- known relaxant<\/strong> . It acts mainly as an antiseptic<\/strong> , anti-inflammatory<\/strong> and is also a mild antiperspirant<\/strong> and antispasmodic<\/strong> .<\/p>\n

We can also throw a spoon in a liter of water without boiling it, chamomile will release its beneficial substances and we can use it if we have stomach disorders<\/strong> from pain, for diarrhea<\/strong> and nausea<\/strong> , for inactive digestion<\/strong> , but also for inflammation of the urinary system<\/strong> .<\/p>\n

We can also use the infusion in compresses and on wounds that are slow to heal.<\/p>\n

Indicatively the medicinal properties of chamomile are:<\/p>\n

  • <\/i> Antispasmodic<\/li>\n

    Here are some uses for dried chamomile flowers:<\/p>\n

    – As an infusion you can consume it at night by<\/strong> drinking a cup so to Fight Insomnia | anxiety and stress<\/strong>.
    \n– The infusion also relieves irritable bowel syndrome.<\/strong>
    \n– You can wash a baby who has trouble sleeping<\/strong> at night by pouring 300ml of drained infusion into the bath water.
    \n– With the infusion you can do mouthwashes<\/strong> to fight inflammation of the mouth.
    \n– In a basin of boiling water add 2 tablespoons of flowers and inhale for cases of asthma, bronchitis, runny nose and allergic fever.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Precautions: Do not consume it in larger doses than you should. Do not use by pregnant women as it is a uterine stimulant. Contact with the herb in wet meadows can cause dermatitis.<\/p>\n
