We all know mint from our experience, as it is used in many commercial products, such as chewing gum, beverages, toothpaste , mouthwashes, but also in prescription drugs. Read below the properties that mint has in the dried form that we offer and you probably did not know them.
Some botanical characteristics of Mint
It differs from mint in the color of the leaves, because it has a deeper green color, as well as in their shape which is sloping and jagged at the edges of the plate. Mint flowers grow from the axils of the leaves and are red to pink forming groups . Growing mint in the garden and in the yard is easy, as it is propagated comfortably through basements and aerial branches.
The leaves are harvested for drying in early summer from June to July and a second in autumn. The kisses are dried immediately after harvest in the shade and at a temperature below 35 degrees Celsius.
The healing properties of mint
Its therapeutic action finds application in diseases of the digestive system in which it acts antispasmodic and antiseptic . For flatulence and bloating in the stomach we prepare a decoction with mint and drink it immediately after meals to help digestive disorders and prevent flatulence. Also with a decoction we can treat heartburn .
For facial infections
Mint decoction when left to cool can be used on the face where it acts as a good astringent . Wet a clean cloth with the decoction and put it on the face like a compress.
To stimulate the hair root
Also with the mint infusion we can make a hair tonic. Pour three tablespoons of dried mint in a cup of water and half a cup of vinegar. Simmer for 15 minutes to make the decoction and then let the mixture cool. Drain the remnants of the dried leaves and massage with this liquid on the scalp. In this way we stimulate the hair root .
Precautions: Mint should not be consumed by women during lactation. Also, do not give this herb in any form to infants, but also to young children, you should not give it continuously for more than a week, as it can irritate the mucous glands.
