The wholegrain tahini is a pulp made from unaltered sesame. Serve on its own (as a dip) or as a main ingredient in hummus, baba ganoush and halva. Tahini is used in the cuisines of the Eastern Mediterranean, the Southern Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as in parts of North Africa. It is also used in Chinese and Southeast Asian cuisine.

It is a basic product in every gourmet kitchen. Whole tahini is a source of calcium, manganese, potassium and phosphorus. The relatively high levels of calcium and protein in tahini make it a useful addition to vegetarian and vegan diets. Compared to peanut butter, tahini has higher levels of fibre and calcium and lower levels of sugar and saturated fat.

Recipe: Healthy fridge brownies without baking

1 cup wholemeal tahini
4 cc. cocoa
5 tbsp honey
1/2 cup coconut milk thick (canned)
3 tbsp. melted and cold coconut butter
2 pinches of salt
a few drops of liquid vanilla
1/2 cup grated chocolate without sugar

Execution: For the easy, fast and healthy fridge brownies with tahini, we put all the ingredients except the chocolate in the blender or in the bucket of the mixer with the cutters, we mash them. In a small utensil or bowl, spread oil glue. Pour the mixture and freeze in the freezer for 2 hours until firm. Turn the iced cake over and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Sprinkle with chocolate crumbs. Let it thaw for a while and serve.
